HERE ARE THE CONS OF BEING A MAPUAN(based on my 4 yrs experience)
1. "ANG DALI LANG PALA SA MAPUA" - that's the no.1 misconception, you may think its true when you take the entrance exam and you pass all the programs offered in this school but your WRONG..
TRUTH: It's easy to enter in this school but the question is "WILL YOU STAY?"
the subjects are so hard to learn in just 3 months compared pag semestral, and sometimes it doesn't just based on your performance but on your professor.. in other words DAPAT friends kayo ng professor kasi may mga prof na pinapasa ung kakilala nila kahit di naman passing ung grades. ang masakit pa dun ung iba ang tataas ng grade sa exams pero TRES lng "3.00" din ang average same as dun s mga pumasa lng ..
2. "MAS MABILIS MAKAGRADUATE" - if your good and you wont have any failing subject but if you do fail, just know that FAIL means= DELAY,
NOTE: MATH COURSE: offered each and every term
MAJOR COURSE: offered based on the curriculum, in other term: kung bumagsak ka sa major course, kailangan mong maghintay na magopen ung course na yun(it may be next term or next year BASED dun sa curriculum nung next batch) or kung madami kayong bagsak let say 15 kayo(kasi yun ung minimum) pwede kayong paopen ng class, kaso mahaba yung process, kailangan mo pa kasing ipa-approve sa dean ng department ng course na kailangan mo at kung may available slots, sila ng bahala sa schedule nun (including the Professor and Classroom) pero kung hindi, Kailangan mo pang maghanap ng Professor na handang tumanggap dun at classroom n gagamitin as well as yung schedule (day and time)
3. "SLOPPY SYSTEM" - nakakalito at nakakapagod na processing systems.
Mapua has adapt a modern technological system for years kung baga "PRIDE" na nila, lahat computerized, pero in terms of processing I feel that they failed, ang dami kasing proseso ang daming paper works,, at nakakpagod maglakad ng paper works..
Paper works: pagpapalipat at pagpapa- add ng section, pagdadrop, completion of incomplete grades at etc...
NOTE: online student site(mymapua)
dun mo makikita yung grades, payment history, curriculum at schedule mo you can also use it to process your payment for tuition fees
PROS OF BEING A MAPUAN
1. you get to be called a 'MAPUAN' - there's a lot of pride to uphold with just being called that, It symbolize that you a strong person to survive studying at that Institution cause it's one of the best,
MAHIRAP SA MAPUA at kung pinili mong magstay (aba matinde ka!) it means that your a survivor, hindi madaling pagaralan ang isang subject in just 3months let alone ipasa. very advance yung mga turo which is such an advantage when you step in to the real world.
2. FACILITIES - every room is equipped with aircon, projector and white board( sobrang laking bagay) i've entered others school and i felt a surge of pride with our facilities, yung iba kasi-- college na pero chalkboard parin yung gamit.
and they do provide water stations at every corner of the school(sulitin ang miscellanous--mag-igib ng tubig! :D)
may lockers which can fit a kid in (although for AR-ID-BE department students lang siya) kaya advantage kung may kaibigan kang taga department na yun pwede kang makilagay..[user] XD
price: 80 pesos per year (affordable).
wide range of sources (library)- mapua has a very in depth selection of book which a student can borrow and read anytime + WIFI all around the school.
*YOU DID PAY FOR ALL THOSE FACILITY (miscellanous)
3. COMPETENT PROFESSORs - professor are very knowledgeable in their subjects you can rest assured your in good hands, especially yung mga math and physics professor (halimaw sa galing magcompute) , although nakakadrain ng utak na halos 3-4 lesson ang tinatapos nila minsan a day you get to learn.
+COMPETENT STUDENT - there's a very helpful student advising program (it means pwede kang paturo sa kapwa studyante: halimaw din sila sa pagcocompute)
4. being GLOBALLY associated - there's a dozen of foreign student around the campus and you get to interact and acquaint yourself with them which is such an advantage cause not only do you enhance you english skills, you also learn about other cultures.
and there's an exchange student program.
5. free to be 'CREATIVE' lahat ng klase ng studyante pwede mong makita s mapua.. hindi kasi sila mahigpit sa looks ng isang studyante (no uniform to conform) basta syempre maayos at desente ung suot mo ( hindi kita ung kaluluwa mo s lalim ng cleavage: too much skin) ok lang kahit mag pink, blue or white hair ka (basta feel mo) or kung may piercing at tattoo ka,, pwede ding magdala ng guitar or games within the school basta hindi kayo makakaabala sa iba.
There's still a lot to say : but I'm sure you'll have your own experiences and discoveries of the other perks and con of being in mapua.
BIGGEST QUESTION: kelan ka gaga-graduate? ga-graduate ka ba? XD
GOODLUCK
